Battle of Kalamata 2023

On Sunday 30 April 2023, over 100 invited guests, members and observers from the first generation through to the third generation joined the committee of the Society of Kalamata ‘23 March’ for its Commemoration Service for the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Kalamata at the Australian Hellenic Memorial in the Domain Gardens in Melbourne.

 This Service is in honour of those who fought and died in the defence of Greece and centres on the last engagement on mainland Greece in Kalamata.

The Society of Kalamata ‘23 March’ would like to once again thank our members and guests who attended our Commemoration Service for the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Kalamata. Battle of Kalamata 2016

Battle of Kalamata 75th Anniversary Commemorative Service was held at 12.30 pm on Sunday 15th May 2016, Australian Hellenic Memorial, Domain Gardens, Government House Drive. It was the first ever commemoration service held in Melbourne. 

 The memorial service was commemorating the battle of Kalamata in 1941 and all who served and sadly died there. A number of veterans families were present.
